What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use a desktop RSS reader to track the latest accepted scientific papers as well as a veritable pile of gadgets to stay wired in.

People who might not otherwise be interested in scientific research.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm most proud of my stories that focus on scientific work not published in the big journals such as Science and Nature.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Sunday evenings and early Monday mornings -- I'm typically hungry for a story right when I get in the office.
