Rokas Jokubaitis leads Lithuania past Greece
Rokas Jokubaitis came up big in the second half as he provided the creative spark Lithuania needed to see off Greece and secure their place in the quarter finals of the FIBA World Cup Technically speaking, this was only an elimination game for Greece. In reality, Lithuania didn’t fancy the cards falling their way if they lost. All the talk beforehand and everything visible on the court said as much, this was an elimination game in all but name.

Thank You, Belmont | By Evan Bradds
We lost to Jacksonville State in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference tourney a couple of weeks ago. For me and the others who are graduating this year — Taylor Barnette, Josh Lester and Nick Smith — it effectively ended our chances of making the NCAA Tournament at making some magic happen in March. We didn’t plan on finishing our college basketball careers without making the tournament one last time, especially after how well we had played all season.

Next Year's Cinderella | By Josh Braun
The Grand Canyon Antelopes have no shot at making the NCAA tournament this year. None. Our team is 21–9 overall, and 10-3 in the WAC, which puts us in a tie for second place. But, look, believe me: We’ve got no chance. By most measures, we’ve done well this season. We’ve beaten almost all the teams we were supposed to beat, and we’ve even made pretty good showings against ranked teams. In preconference play back in December, we lost to No. 14 Louisville by nine and to No. 19 Arizona by 10.

Making a Name for Myself | By T.J. Cline
This past summer, before my final year at the University of Richmond, I wanted to make two major improvements in my life. The first was to get in better shape and clean up my diet. The second was to improve my ballhandling skills and my jump shot. Luckily, an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings offered to train me. One-on-one training with an actual NBA coach, in an actual NBA arena. I’m a college player at a mid-major in Virginia. I couldn’t say no to that.
Why I Came Back to TCU | By Jamie Dixon
When I was coming out of high school, recruiting rankings didn’t exist. That didn’t matter much anyhow, because I wouldn’t have had any stars next to my name. I was just a kid from California with oversized ambitions and undersized athleticism. Like a lot of teenagers at that age, I didn’t have a firm grasp on life. But what I did understand is that I had a passion for the game of basketball. I wanted to be around it any way that I could.
How to Be a Mid-Major
In a little town, on a little street, inside a little bar, the orders of wings were going around. Someone was pointing at me. “Is that … hot sauce on your beard?” It was, in fact, hot sauce on my beard. Sitting right in front of me was the culprit: a demolished plate of superhot wings that we call “Kiss Your Taste Buds Goodbye.” If you’re a Stephen F. Austin student, you know the spot I’m talking about. This was at Flashback Cafe — or Flashbacks, as it’s more commonly known.
