Pandas and SAP Data Intelligence
Within minutes when I am introducing data processing with the Modeler of Data Intelligence to a data scientist I get the question of how Pandas is supported. Pandas is the “high-performance, easy-to-use data structures and data analysis” (citation) package for Python that no data scientist can ignore unless she is still an R-aficionada. My usual answer : “You can add whatever package you like to a docker container and with the Custom Python operator you can use them as you like.
Local Development of Python Custom Operators
After a couple of projects I developed a kind of a best practise for creating custom operators. For replacing the manual steps I have written several helper scripts that finally funnelled into one. These I want to share with fellow Data Intelligence users. This blog starts with some general remarks on how to develop on the SAP Data Intelligence platform before it shows a way to locally code custom operators.
Some Notes on Docker File Creation on SAP Data Intelligence
As a Data Scientist or Data Engineer you might not be too familiar hands-on with Docker. At least this was my start. I knew about the appealing concept of containerising applications but when developing pipelines or operators on SAP Data Intelligence I was always happy when having an existing docker image that I could use. With time requests had come to leave my comfort zone and to learn more about using Docker.
