Finland announces extended roster for Olympic Qualifying Tournament
Finland's national team announced its extended 17-man roster ahead of the upcoming FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Valencia, Spain. As it was confirmed earlier, Finland's star Lauri Markkanen will miss the Olympic Qualifying Tournament and wasn't even included in the list. The Utah Jazz star won't play in the tournament due to a right shoulder injury. Out of 17 players on the list, 10 of them are free agents. The 33-year-old Sasu Salin leads the young Finland's team this year.

Volodymyr Gerun expected to join Osaka Evessa
The second-best rebounder in the Japan B League, Volodymyr Gerun, is expected to join forces with Osaka Evessa, sources tell BasketNews. The 30-year-old, 2.11-meter Ukrainian center is coming off his first season in Japan with the Sendai 89ers. He averaged 11.9 points (60.4% 2FG), 12.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.9 blocked shots, making him the second-best rebounder in the league, behind former Denver Nuggets player Thomas Welsh (12.2 RPG).
Tibor Pleiss, Anadolu Efes part ways
After 6 years with Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Tibor Pleiss leaves the Turkish club. Pleiss joined Anadolu Efes in August 2018. Since then, he became the EuroLeague champion twice (2021, 2022), won three Turkish League titles (2019, 2021, 2023), one Turkish Cup (2022), and was named Turkish Cup Final MVP (2022).

Hello basketball fans. Two months have passed since my last blog and during this period we had a 10-game losing streak in the EuroLeague. That was an indeed difficult situation for the club, the team and the fans. After we had a great start to the season, we lost some players due to injuries and we did not win the close games. Losing these games in crunch time is really tough, but it’s important to keep on fighting.
