After Dinner from Japan, embraced new wave, traditional Japanese music, free contemporary and avant-garde rock. Aurality -20°10’45.3176” -044°04’01.4329” is an array of sonic encounters that floats and wavers above the pliable junction of experimental electronics and field recording research.

Hermetic Topography, by Zebularin
After tapes on Steep Gloss and Cruel Nature, we are happy that Stuttgart-based collective Zebularin join the OM family with their new release “Hermetic Topography“. The album, a product of weekly recording sessions between March and July 2020, just when the pandemic slowed a bit down, might be the closest approach to what communal experiences sounded throughout 2020. It‘s a bold design of how collective improvisation can work in the post-covid era.

Zangaar | Rojin Sharafi | Zabte Sote
Artist statement: Zangaar is the dust of time that covers memories and mirrors. It makes, thus, a new abstract surface, a new quality of time. Zangaar is formed by a reaction between literature and sound, copper and oxygen, mirror and reflection. Looking back to the stories, situations and states, while “Zangaar” covers their surfaces, it pushes you to find a new way of narrating: describing an abstract image and situation while a story is taking place in the background.
8, by Morita Vargas
Born and raised in Argentina, Morita Vargas is an experimental artist and producer based in Buenos Aires. She manipulates her voice through reverbs, delays and whispers, singing in a self-invented 'language'. The sound of Morita’s voice is a portal into her thriving, dreamlike world brimming, shimmering and beating with unrefined natural sensations which stimulate something primordial yet strangely contemporary.

Vivienne, by Laila Sakini
Mostly piano, vocals, efx and unconscious arrangements make up Laila Sakini’s “Vivienne” on Total Stasis. It asks, what if things were different? Tender symbols – flowers, butterflies, potion – portray an idealised life. But in a scene of ennui, waiting, in-between feelings are held, and released, reluctantly - like a longing sigh. In this ever-shifting landscape, these sentiments are imbued within Laila’s oneiric, gently repetitive compositions to form a fittingly hypnotising embrace.

The darkness and the grey billowing out from it. I drift over marble floors, jungle canopies, heat stripped from me at one turn, piercing me the next.
