Information for Funded Projects
The Office of Procurement, Grants Policy and Compliance (GPC) assesses and interprets Federal financial assistance statutes, regulations, and policies issued by governing and oversight bodies to determine how best to implement policy that aligns to the grant life cycle and takes into account NASA’s unique structure, resources, and requirements.
NASA’s 2024 DALI (Development and Advancement of Lunar Instrumentation) Award Selections
The DALI24 projects will expand NASA’s portfolio of technology available for the development of instruments for use in future lunar missions, including the agency’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services program and Artemis campaign. The goal of DALI is to develop and demonstrate instruments that show promise for use in future announcements of NASA flight opportunities, in addition the instruments are intended to be ready for flight hardware build after the three-year project duration.
NASA Awards Four Early-Stage Planetary Instrument Technology Development Grants
NASA has made four new awards through the Planetary Instrument Concepts for the Advancement of Solar System Observations (PICASSO) program. The PICASSO portfolio focuses on early-stage ideas -- defined as concepts at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 1 to 3 on a nine-point scale -- that would support the development of instrument hardware which would enhance or enable the scientific return on future planetary missions to other worlds within our solar system.
NASA Awards 10 Planetary Instrument Technology Development Grants
NASA has made 10 new awards through the Planetary Instrument Concepts for the Advancement of Solar System Observations (PICASSO) program. The PISCASSO23 projects will expand NASA’s portfolio of technology available for the development of missions exploring a wide range of environments, from the hot surface of Mercury to the far-flung icy worlds on the edges of the Solar System.

ASA’s 2024 MatISSE (Maturation of Instruments for Solar System Exploration) Program Selections
The MatISSE 2024 projects will expand NASA’s portfolio of instrument technology available for the development of missions exploring a wide range of environments, from the hot surfaces of inner planets to the far-flung icy worlds on the edges of the Solar System. These technologies will help answer key questions about the origins, evolution and future of our solar system, and the search for life in our planetary neighborhood.
Planetary Science Technology Workshop
Planetary Exploration Science Technology Office PESTO will hold an alternating year in person Technology Showcase. The Technology Showcase is a forum created by PESTO to facilitate interactions and meetings between Technology Developers, Scientists, and Mission Managers. The first Technology Showcase successfully débuted in 2023. PESTO will therefore continue to promote these opportunities by holding an alternating-year in-person Technology Showcase. Keep Exploring

Some of these deep craters have shadowed areas that haven’t seen the sun in billions of years – and scientists believe these areas might hold a building block for life: water. Learn More
Lunar 3GPP - NASA
3GPP deployment on the Moon is fueled by commercial collaboration. Through strategic public-private partnerships, NASA is opening space to more people, science, and commercial opportunities. The Artemis III demonstration is enabled through partnerships with Nokia Bell Labs, which is developing the 4G cellular hardware, and Axiom Space, which will integrate the hardware into their AxEMU spacesuits.
Featured Video Phased Array Technology NASA is working with industry to extend the use of electronically steerable antennas, or phased array antennas, to the lunar surface. Phased array antennas are made of many small antennas that work together to steer communications signals toward their target, even as they move away from the antenna or make unexpected turns.
