Guyana’s Emergence as a Strategic Energy Powerhouse in a Volatile Global Oil Market | JD Supra
Over the past decade, Guyana has undergone one of the most dramatic economic and energy transformations in the world. Once among the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, Guyana is now rapidly establishing itself as a critical player in global oil markets—at a time when energy security, supply diversification, and geopolitical risk are at the forefront of policymaker and investor concerns.
The Great Power Up: Navigating America’s Surging Demand for Electricity
The United States is entering an energy demand supercycle unlike anything seen in decades.
The Great Power Up: Navigating America's Surging Demand For Electricity
Foley & Lardner are most popular: within Coronavirus (COVID-19), Cannabis & Hemp and Insolvency/Bankruptcy/Re-Structuring topic(s) The United States is entering an energy demand supercycle unlike anything seen in decades. The U.S. experienced a major build out of new power plants in the mid to late 1990s and early 2000s, but that boom collapsed abruptly after the Enron scandal and related financial failures undermined confidence in the merchant generation model and halted investment.1 The...
Regression of renal cell carcinoma by T cell receptor-engineered T cells targeting a human endogenous retrovirus
Discussion Here, we characterize an HLA-A11-restricted TCR that recognizes a 10-mer peptide derived from the CT-RCC HERV-E that is selectively expressed in ccRCC and show for the first time that T cells transduced with this TCR acquire the ability to kill ccRCC tumors in vitro and in vivo. We also describe a GMP-compliant method for their large-scale ex vivo generation for clinical use.
Foley team members recently attended the Infocast Projects & Money conference, which was held in person in New Orleans from January 25-27, 2022. This was Infocast’s second in-person conference since COVID-19 began, and there were approximately 280 attendees, which Infocast indicated was consistent with attendance from the 2019 conference.

TCR modifications that increase proper chain pairing also enhance reactivity against naturally occurring HCV mutant peptides
TCR gene modified T cells in adoptive cell transfer have been shown to have clinical success in treating melanoma and other malignancies. One of the challenges in using TCR gene modified T cells include proper expression of the introduced TCR and function. Mispairing between endogenous and introduced TCR chains allows for the potential of unanticipated off-target reactivity, autoimmunity, and impaired therapeutic efficacy against targeted antigens.
Hepatitis C virus-cross-reactive TCR gene-modified T cells: A model for immunotherapy against diseases with genomic instability
A major obstacle hindering the development of effective immunity against viral infections, their associated disease, and certain cancers is their genomic instability. Accumulation of mutations can alter processing/presentation of antigens recognized by antibodies and T cells leading to immune escape variants. A therapeutic agent that can combat rapidly mutating viral or cancer-associated antigens would be advantageous in providing effective immunity.
