Unveiling the rare coexistence: thyroid hemiagenesis and thyroid cancer - case series and comprehensive review
Abstract Background: Thyroid hemiagenesis (THA) is a rare congenital malformation. By contrast, the co-occurrence of thyroid carcinoma (TC) in patients with THA is even rarer. Case reports: We present a detailed account of the diagnosis and treatment of two patients diagnosed with THA complicated by TC. Materials and methods: we performed a comprehensive search of the PubMed in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines.
HRD in endometrial cancer: LST loss drives distinct genomic profile and platinum response - npj Precision Oncology
Abstract While homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) presents therapeutic opportunities in endometrial cancer (EC), its molecular determinants and clinical implications remain poorly characterized.
Evidence-Based Practice to Promote Gastrointestinal Function Recovery | IJWH
Introduction An elective cesarean delivery is a pre-planned surgical procedure performed prior to the onset of labor when both the pregnant woman and the fetus are in stable condition, and clinical indications for a cesarean delivery exist.1 Postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction is a possible complication associated with cesarean deliveries.
Analyzing Traffic Operation Characteristics of Cold-Climate Cities Based on Multi-Source Data Fusion: A Case Study of Harbin
1. Introduction Cold-climate cities face severe traffic challenges caused by extended winters, freezing temperatures, substantial snowfall, and icy roads []. These unfavorable climatic conditions significantly reduce road capacity, disrupt traffic flow, and exacerbate traffic congestion during peak hours. At the same time, severe weather also increases the likelihood of traffic accidents and further burdens the safety and efficiency of the traffic system [].

Modular synthesis of congested β2,2-amino acids via the merger of photocatalysis and oxidative functionalisations
Modular synthesis of congested β2,2-amino acids via the merger of photocatalysis and oxidative functionalisations† A two-step protocol for the modular synthesis of β2- and α-quaternary β2,2-amino acid derivatives is reported. The key steps are a photocatalytic hydroalkylation reaction, followed by an oxidative functionalisation to access N-protected β-amino acids, esters, and amides. This strategy can be effectively scaled up via continuous-flow technology.
Precision of Corneal Aberrations Measured by a New SD-OCT/Placido Topographer and Its Agreement With a Scheimpflug/Placido Topographer
Original Article Abstract Purpose: To evaluate the precision of corneal aberrations measured by a new SD-OCT/Placido topographer, the MS-39 (CSO), and to compare them with those provided by a Scheimpflug/Placido device, the Sirius (CSO), in normal eyes. Methods: This study enrolled 90 normal eyes of 90 patients. Total root mean square (RMS), higher order RMS, coma, trefoil, spherical aberration, and astigmatism II were analyzed.

3D-Printed biphasic calcium phosphate scaffold loaded with platelet lysate/gelatin methacrylate to promote the vascularization
3D-Printed biphasic calcium phosphate scaffold loaded with platelet lysate/gelatin methacrylate to promote the vascularization Gang Liu, Boqing Zhang, Ting Wan, Changchun Zhou, Yujiang Fan, Wei Jing and Weidong Tian Abstract 3D-printed biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) scaffolds show great clinical application potential in bone tissue engineering, however, vascularization of the scaffold is a crucial step for bone regeneration and is still difficult to be controlled.
Decatungstate‐Mediated C(sp3)-H Heteroarylation via Radical‐Polar Crossover in Batch and Flow
Abstract Photocatalytic hydrogen atom transfer is a very powerful strategy for the regioselective C(sp3)–H functionalization of organic molecules. Herein, we report on the unprecedented combination of decatungstate hydrogen atom transfer photocatalysis with the oxidative radical–polar crossover concept to access the direct net-oxidative C(sp3)–H heteroarylation.

In-situ assessment of biofilm formation in submerged membrane system using optical coherence tomography and computational fluid dynamics | Other Applications | King Abdullah University of Science and Technology This paper introduces a novel approach to study the biofouling development on gravity driven submerged membrane bioreactor (SMBR).
Blood-based novel biomarkers for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease has become a social health challenge of global concern. The term nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a more severe condition than simple steatosis and distinguishing NASH from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is particularly important. Liver biopsy remains a gold standard in diagnosing NASH. Meanwhile, radiological techniques such as ultrasonography and MRI are also applied widely.
