What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be nice to everyone. Ask how you can help. Try to write at least one article for every publicist that reaches out to you.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Whenever. I'm not an asshole and I'm conscious of others' goals, so I'm always open. I respect PR coordinators as creatives.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
All the cluttered pitches without identification of important information are the WORST.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I'm always on the computer, but you can find me on one of the 100 tabs I have open.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I haven't created it yet.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I'm a diverse journalist because I'm interested in everything. My beat isn't singular. If there's a story, I write it.
