What was your first job as a journalist?
It was as an intern for an online media firm, where I used to do Research, Graphics and Social Media Management.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Unfortunately not.
How is social media changing news?
It is making an element of news worthwhile through 'Timeliness'. Providing quick and easy access to news, be it Local or Global.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Brick Tamland from the Anchorman
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To work as the 4th pillar of Democracy and throw light on such aspects of society which remain under the cover for some reason.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Definitely, Face-to-Face because that has a lot of clarity in contrast to Written ones.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
WordPress, Canva, Abode Creative Cloud, TweetDeck, Creator Studio, Google Docs, Cliq.
What's your favorite social network?
May be a bit aspirational or out of place, but, LinkedIn tops my list. Gone are the days of Meta and other SM, work is the new priority.
Who do you wish followed you?
My Celebrity Crush and some prominent leaders of the respective field I'm in.
Why did you become a journalist?
To work as a watchdog for society and bring about any positive change I can through my writing and reporting.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Story related to Eastern India. I belong to the region, and bringing hidden gems from my area, out for the world to read is such a proud moment.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read, Just Read. If not all, at least about the Beat you want to get in. To be a good journalist, knowledge and spontaneity are a must.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. Anyday. Anywhere.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
"Partition Horrors" beat and interviewed people who faced the Horrors of partition in 1947. Such an emotional yet inspiring moment it was.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Covering the US for its External and Internal Affairs.
What's your favorite drink?
It has to be Milkshake, any day. More so, the Peanut Banana Milkshake is an absolute favourite. It is such a complete and wholesome drink.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Somewhere inside books or mobile digging out things important to me.

The Indian Express and The Statesman
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it involves a lot of Travelling and Fun and it is easy for anyone to do.
