What The Hell Is Wrong With (Some) People?
Well you folks are overly-sensitive in my book. As was the boyfriend. Groping implies sexual pleasure: https://www.thefreedictionary.com/groping and I don't think there was any in that butt-slap. Hit by car, minor injury, but seeking advice how to handle better next time
Wells St is probably one of the most dangerous stretches of road in the city for cyclists. Start with the fact that you have a one mile long shared bike lane under the L tracks with generally poor lighting. The El support structure creates numerous pinch points. You have parking on the west side of the street near the bike lane, so doorings are a good possibility.
Will Scooters Win?
I just struggle with where we draw the line. What's the difference between this sort of scooter, and say an electric moped where the person sits (assuming the e-moped is also speed-limited)? I doubt many cyclists would have been cool with sharing the lane with an electric moped in the past, and I know I rant whenever a motorcycle or traditional moped cuts into the lanes, so not sure why these should automatically be treated different without any sort of conversation.
Another Cyclist Hit - Safety at Hazardous Halsted and Madison is CDOT'S Responsibility
CBS2 reports about the ongoing dangerous and hazardous conditions that exist at Halsted and Madison for road users and pedestrians, and the inaction by CDOT to resolve it. Crashes have doubled in the immediate vicinity because of all the hazards created by the building construction and the Chicago Department of Transportation has done very little to improve safety here or change traffic conditions accordingly.

How do you exercise your mind to achieve center in your life through your cycling rides? "Meditation allows us to understand ourselves. By meditating, we can begin to see what creates suffering in our lives, and what brings happiness and peace. When we see these things we begin to make better choices.
