Poll: Do you think RTÉ should stop playing the Angelus? THE ANGELUS IS a one-minute Catholic reflection that is aired daily on RTÉ Radio at 12 noon and 6pm, and on RTÉ One at 6pm, since the inception of the public service broadcaster. After the publishing of the Mother and Baby Home Commission report on Tuesday, people have begun arguing that RTÉ should stop playing the Angelus twice a day.
Opinion: It's no coincidence that some of those storming the US Capitol were New Age conspiracists
THE VIRAL IMAGE that has come to represent last week’s mob attack on the American Capitol building shows a man on the floor of Congress, dressed in fur and bull horns, holding a spear with the American Flag attached to it. One might have expected an image of a member of the militant Proud Boys or a crowd of MAGA hats to represent that infamous day in American history, but instead, it is the shaman and QAnon follower Jake Angeli from Arizona.
Korean Government Buys Chevrolet Bolt EVs For Public Duty
It seems that South Korea has recognized the value of the Chevrolet Bolt EV, as the government has taken delivery of some Bolts for itself. The government has taken delivery of nine Bolts, which will be used to provide social welfare services. “We thank the Bupyeong District Office for selecting the Chevrolet Bolt EV to provide meaningful social welfare services,” said GM Korea President and CEO Kaher Kazem.
2019 Colorado ZR2 Bison Features New Kind Of Chevy Flowtie
Chevy’s 2019 Colorado ZR2 Bison is packed with unique features that make it the ultimate midsize off-road truck. From purpose-designed bumpers, skid plates, and snorkel, the teams at Chevy and AEV really put some thought into making this one really capable truck. But besides the truck’s various off-road parts, the Colorado ZR2 Bison also features a new kind of Chevy Flowtie. Four years ago, Chevy introduced a unique version of its bowtie logo on the 2014 Camaro Z/28.
Two Chevy Trucks Stolen In Hollywood-Style Police Chase
A rather simple robbery in Billings, Montana transformed into a Hollywood-style police chase only the likes of Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts could have imagined. The hour-long situation makes for quite the riveting story, involving ten crime scenes and the theft of five vehicles – two of which were Chevy trucks. Luckily, the gongshow ended with minor injuries for the suspect and no injuries to officers or bystanders. Here’s how it all went down.
Volvo Follows Buick In Asking U.S. To Exempt Chinese-Made XC60 From Tariffs
In June, we reported that there is a possibility that GM will discontinue the Buick Envision in the U.S. market as a result of an incoming 25 percent tariff targeting products imported from China. The automaker is putting up a fight, and has asked the U.S. government that the vehicle be excluded from any import duties.
Cadillac XT6 Wheel Size Uncovered In Exclusive Photo
The most recent Cadillac XT6 spy photos gave us our best look yet at the upcoming Caddy three-row crossover. Being content but not entirely satisfied with the pix, we decided to do some further digging, and were able to uncover that the XT6 prototypes are riding on 20-inch wheels. Specifically, the Cadillac XT6 features a whee/tire size of 235/55R20 – certainly a rather large diameter wheel that comes as a welcome surprise, while also raising some interesting. questions.
Colorado ZR2 Bison: Who Is The New Performance Variant For?
With Chevy having officially announced the Colorado ZR2 Bison, we have been giving wondering who the new off-road truck is for. In other words, who will buy this turn-key off-road truck, and what is its target market? The obvious answer are hard-core, off-road enthusiasts with a penchant for mid-size pickup trucks (as opposed to full-size trucks), who have a good deal of disposable income and who don’t want to deal with the aftermarket.
GM Should Absolutely Make A Midsize Buick SUV
Whether we like it or not, there is no denying that the crossover space is a profit-making machine with ongoing growth potential. With the exception of Cadillac, which is sorely missing a complete CUV lineup, GM was lucky enough to have its crossover lineup relatively well-established for the big crossover boom. The automaker’s most recent introduction is the 2019 Blazer, equipping Chevrolet with a complete crossover range, from subcompact to compact and from midsize to full-size.
GMC Canyon Great For America and Canada, Not Available Elsewhere
Much like Buick, GM’s GMC brand has a somewhat limited “global” presence, with availability being restricted to the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. But the GMC Canyon, which is only available in the U.S. and Canada, is an exception to that practice. To wit: GMC offers its entire model lineup except for the Canyon midsize pickup in markets outside its home. Even more curious is that the larger Sierra is offered in all four markets where GMC has a first-party presence.
GM Offers Not One, But Two Chevy Taxi Models In Colombia
With the global proliferation of ride hailing services like Uber and Lyft (in which GM even invested), one might wonder why any automaker would continue to build dedicated yellow cab taxi models. But in some countries where ride hailing services are illegal, traditional taxis are not only relevant, but very prevalent. To capitalize on this rather unique scenario in the South American country of Colombia, GM is offering not one, but two Chevy Taxi models.
2019 Blazer Features Upper Active Air Shutters
When Chevy debuted the 2019 Blazer in Atlanta back in June, we thought that the bow tie brand shared all of secrets behind its new midsize crossover. From the looks of it, it didn’t – resulting in GM Authority coming to discover that the new Blazer’s hot new grille not only catches the eye, but also contains a rather cool and useful active aerodynamics feature – active air shutters (otherwise known as active aero shutters).
2019 Chevy Colorado Aims To Improve Bluetooth Call Quality
Anyone who has made a phone call (or two) using the Bluetooth hands-free system in the second-generation Chevrolet Colorado may have been told by the person on the receiving end of the call that the sound quality is anything but stellar, especially if the passenger was doing the talking. So the fact that a second in-cabin microphone is being added to the 2019 Chevy Colorado in order to better pick up the words spoken by the driver as well as by the vehicle’s occupants comes as welcome news.
2019 Colorado Introduces UltraSonic Rear Park Assist: Feature Spotlight
The 2019 Colorado represents the fifth model year of the second-generation model and it’s bringing a packed list of new features ahead of an expected 2020 Colorado facelift. One of those features is ultrasonic rear park assist, which is now available for some Colorado trim levels. The Colorado has drawn some ire from present owners and shoppers alike for the lack of various features that are available in competing trucks, parking sensors being one such feature.
Buyers Don't Care That New Buick Enclave Doesn't Have The Latest Engine
Buick Enclave sales in the second quarter of 2018 soared 25 percent to 12,551 units, catapulting the premium full-size crossover to first place in sales volume in its competitive set. In doing so, the new Enclave outsold the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7. And to only think that the Buick managed all that with a last-generation engine under the hood. It would seem, then, that buyers simply do not care that the Enclave uses last-gen powertrain technology.
