Extinct tiger head found under bed to sell for thousands at auction
The extinct, rare tiger head. (Tom Wren via SWNS) By Tom Bevan An extremely rare extinct tiger head has been found hidden under a bed - just weeks after the "only one in existence" sold for $80,520. The thylacine - also known as the Tasmanian tiger - was discovered at home by a couple who had no idea of its rarity. They came forward after the only other known surviving taxidermy of its kind was sold at auction back in August under the mistaken belief it was a "fox head".

Republican Generic Ballot Woes Continue Original
By Tom Bevan Published On: 06/01/2026Last updated 06/01/2026, 09:51 PM EDT With the 2026 midterm elections just five months away, Republicans are facing an increasingly dire situation – and it appears to be growing worse by the day. In the last 30 days, the GOP has lost 3.3% support in the RCP Average of the Generic Congressional Vote. Their current standing of 40.3% is the lowest of Trump’s second term by almost a full percentage point.
A 2010-Style Disaster Brewing in Michigan for Democrats Original
Take a walk down memory lane with me. It’s a midterm election, and things are not looking good for the president’s party. A grassroots revolt has erupted among the opposition party, which has infused it with much-needed energy and citizen activism, but has also produced some questionable, untested candidates running for federal office. I’m speaking about 2010, of course.
How Americans Feel About Tax Day
Today is April 15, the day of reckoning between the Internal Revenue Service and millions of (procrastinating) taxpayers. Two recent surveys give us a sense of how Americans view their annual obligation to pay Uncle Sam. According to a Gallup poll conducted last week, 59% of those surveyed consider the amount of federal income tax they have to pay is “too high.” That number has been stable over the last three years, but represents a significant 13-point jump from Gallup’s reading in April of 2020.

Don’t Let Sentimentalism Drive Bad Policy | RealClearPolitics
Tomorrow, members of the Senate Judiciary Committee will mark up the Pride in Patent Ownership Act. With the government’s budget still to be resolved by the lame-duck Congress, one might wonder what the urgency of this piece of legislation could be. If you thought it was a matter of vital national security, the continuity of the U.S. government, or emergency aid for a hard-hit community, you’d be mistaken.

Handcuffed SBF Does a Final Favor for Dem Allies
Handcuffed SBF Does a Final Favor for Dem Allies What a happy coincidence for Democrats that, hours before the alleged crypto criminal Sam Bankman-Fried was due to testify before the House Financial Services Committee, he was arrested in the Bahamas. That meant that SBF, the second-biggest Democratic donor of the 2022 cycle—behind 92-year-old George Soros—was able to evade questioning from Republican House members. Read Full Article »

'Twitter Files' Too Serious to Be Left to Elon's Pals
I'm sorry, but the Twitter Files are not a nothingburger. The information revealed so far about Twitter's internal deliberations shows that the company's content moderation decisions were often justified on grounds that the decision-makers themselves found dubious. The company routinely honored censorship requests from powerful factions, and some political commentators were shadow banned in a way that appears to be inconsistent with... ESG Funds Use Financial Strong-arming and Thuggery CCP Style
There's no such thing as blue money or red money. Only the green stuff will pay bills. Friday, North Carolina State Treasurer Dale Folwell became the latest of many officials from nearly half the states across the U.S. -- including Florida, Texas, Kentucky, Missouri, Arizona and West Virginia -- to protest Wall Street's blue investment strategy, also called ESG. What is ESG? "E" stands for environment, "S" for social justice and "G" for corporate governance.

The Twitter Files and Writing for the Maw
I don't give a shit about the Twitter files. I am, famously, not a fan of Twitter, as I see it as the virtual space in which conformity is rigidly enforced. I was guilty, notoriously, of very bad behavior on Twitter, which led to a public shunning of me that was predictable, understandable, and justified. For the five years since that happened, I have considered my Twitter privileges revoked, and I will go on feeling that way.
