Bill tries to solve problem that doesn't exist
Obscene material should not be in our public schools. This is something all Montanans can probably agree on. To my knowledge no such material is in our schools. One reason obscenity is not a problem, is that the current process in place in Montana schools, allows parents to object to material in a book.
Opinion: Hoping Hauck did not read letter before signing
It is hard to know where to start. Everyone has the right to sign any letter they want; even University of Montana football coach Bobby Hauck. But after reading the letter that Mr. Hauck signed supporting the superintendent of public education, I can only hope that he did not read the letter before adding his signature. Democratic legislators listening to Missoulians
Whether your family has lived in Big Sky Country for decades or you're a first-generation Montanan, all of us are united by the promise of our Montana values: hard work, rugged independence and a commitment to join together and lift each other up in the face of adversity. When we see a neighbor struggling to dig out their car after a winter like the one we just had, Montanans don’t tum away and pretend not to notice. We grab a shovel and go help them out. And we don’t stop until the work is done.
Kier builds trust, brings people together
Currently, when I read the news, it’s clear that our country is paralyzed by partisanship and divisiveness. Our state and our country need some congressional leadership that can bring Montanans back together to move our state and country forward together. One thing I learned in my 15 years of service at the Legislature is that you can’t pass policy by yourself. You have to earn the trust of your colleagues, your constituents, and everyone else in the process.
Tester should protect Montanans from Wall Street schemes
Over the next few weeks, the U.S. Congress will be wrestling with a pair of must-pass government spending bills.
