Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Tom Kutzen is a skilled financial service professional with more than 30 years of experience managing banks and portfolios, working in various markets, and developing products.
Currently, in his professional career, Tom Kutzen is focused on sharing the knowledge he’s accumulated across three decades within the capital markets with individuals and organizations operating outside of the financial services industry. Tom’s goal is to help these organizations and individuals alike develop the skills they need to continue their financial understanding and work towards economic success. He founded his capital management firm in 2000, and for the past two decades, he has been managing the firm.
Before his current positions, Tom Kutzen worked as the Vice President for Lane Capital for four years, trading and managing portfolios. Prior to that role, He worked with Merrill Lynch as the Vice President of Merrill Lynch Fixed Income, where he managed the risk-controlled arbitrage group for two years; before that, he was Vice President of Morgan Stanley for a year. Tom also traded options and mortgages as the Vice President of Greenwich Capital Markets, and he got his professional start at Chase in 1980. Across his six years at Chase, Tom served as the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Paper, Treasurer for the Seoul Korea Branch, and Assistant Treasurer for Money Markets. During his time with the business, Tom enabled the first Puerto Rican public housing bond insurance.
Tom’s impressive career got its roots in his education. In college, he found he loved economics and had a high skill set in math. He attended Oberlin College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After graduating, Tom Kutzen attended the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business, where he earned his MBA specializing in Finance.
When he’s not working, Tom Kutzen likes to relax with his hobbies, which include managing his personal wealth and playing a little golf whenever he has the chance.
