Reporter for Accountancy Age... life in the mud was hard

What does it mean to be a journalist?
That you want to find out things before anyone else? And you probably have to love the sound of your own voice (in text and in audio formats)
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Well I don't deal with freelancers. But I do with PRs. I prefer it to be a total exclusive and actually relevant to what I do

Twitter - although I'm more of an observer than a tweeter

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
nope
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I got a scoop - very small one of someone moving bank. But I kept asking around, kept bothering people and eventually it came good.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I still see myself as an aspiring journo... Accept criticism and learn from it. Be confident and persistent. Be yourself
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
A (young) PR firm had made up a new phrase for the "Gig economy", "Quantum working" which annoyed me

Guinness

Financial Times for a similar field. BBC Sport (when Arsenal win)
