Raised in northern Indiana where his father served as an educational administrator for the University of Notre Dame, Tom Plouff ultimately attended Notre Dame as both an undergraduate and graduate student. After earning his bachelor of science in business and his juris doctor as a Thomas J. White law school scholar, he embarked upon his legal career as an antitrust litigation attorney with the US Federal Trade Commission. Remaining in the public sector for several years, Tom Plouff subsequently served as a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the US Department of Justice and as assistant US attorney for the Northern District of Indiana.
Since leaving the US Attorney’s Office in 1993, Tom Plouff has practiced through the Plouff Law Offices in Chicago, Illinois. His areas of expertise include personal injury, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, civil rights abuses, medical malpractice, and nursing home neglect. He has also undertaken cases involving railroad accidents and/or injuries that violate the provisions of the Federal Employers Liability Act.
