2018 - Best Promotion of the Public"s Right To Know

The 2019 Best Promotion of the Public’s Right To Know Award (for entrees judged from 2017). After Elk Grove Township School Dist. 59 school board members passed a measure to issue bonds of up to $20 million. Residents opposed to the bonds circulated petitions to force the bond question onto the Gubernatorial Primary Election ballot. Tom Robb uncovered private emails exchanged between a majority of school board members coordinating challenges to that ballot petition leading to an Illinois Attorney General Public Access Bureau investigation into possible violations of the Illinois Open Meetings Act
