Exiles Bar - Review - U Street - Washington DC - The Infatuation
Exiles sits at the midpoint between the Dupont, Adams Morgan, and 14th & U St neighborhoods, a location that’s easy to get to and far enough from nightlife epicenters to throw stray drunks off its scent. Inside there are two floors and a patio offering modest tavern vibes with exposed brick walls, wooden furniture, and little decoration besides the scarves, flags, and pennants of the teams the bar supports.
Atomic Billiards - Review - Cleveland Park - Washington DC - The Infatuation
For a city of its size, DC has a severe lack of pool tables. There are even fewer if you want a crowd that’s as concerned with their next shot in the game as they are their next shot of tequila. Enter Atomic Billiards in Cleveland Park, the rare bar in town with multiple pool tables and people who actually want to play on them. This is a locals-mostly spot where casual players and sharks alike rack ‘em up and call shots for around $15 per hour.
Nido Wine Shop & Market
Nido feels like an Andalusian market that’s been in the family for decades. Except instead of the south of Spain, Nido tucks its wicker furniture and tiled walls into a small storefront in Mt. Israel’s risky hostage deal
The agreement between Israel and Hamas to secure the release of Israeli hostages has ignited a firestorm. While the desperation of the hostages’ families and the desire to save as many as possible is understandable, the decision to negotiate with the world’s most evil terrorist group comes at a terrible price. Those objecting to negotiations with Hamas rightly argue that any discussion with barbaric murderers imperils the principle established in the aftermath of the Oct.
The worst eruption of antisemitism in American history
The United States is experiencing the most explosive and dangerous eruption of antisemitism in its 250-year history. Indeed, it is absolutely unprecedented in American life. Never before have thousands of people gathered to support the mass murder of Jews with open calls for the annihilation of the Jewish state. Worst of all, perhaps, this is the first and only form of any organized hatred in the U.S. that has been exterminationist in intent.

by Tom Rose, PhD Reprinted with permission from the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest www.jhsum.org Simon Bourgin, born to a Jewish family in Ely describes the town as “a village in the wilderness.” Jim Klobuchar, a columnist for the Minneapolis Tribune and Ely native of Slovenian descent, called Ely “a shantytown beginning, and disaster and conflict...the mingling of its ethnic clans, the lyricism of its languages and yearnings, and the clang of its colliding cultures...the...
Up, up and away
Last Wednesday morning, March 8, marked the 25th anniversary of Umatilla Elementary School’s Rocket Day, when the community celebrated fifth-grade students who flew rockets that they built from scratch. The students designed and manufactured the rocket parts using 3-D printing, a far cry from the early days of the event. And then, on the beautiful, sunny day, the students sent about 130 rockets skyward as an appreciative crowd watched the show.

Krakovets, Lyviv Oblast, Ukraine — As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine now targets military bases and supply lines just miles from one of the busiest Polish border crossings, the letter Z has morphed from a proud symbol of Russian arms into the mark of Russian terror.
