What was your first job as a journalist?
Noseweek.

Yes. Many years ago.

Everyone with access to socal media has become a journalist.

Online company, property and directorship searches.

Why did you become a journalist?
I could do justice a lot swifter than I could as a lawyer.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. Highschool was boring. I only started to shine at university.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My legal training tells me that I should nt be a judge in my own case. (There is a fancy Latin phrase for it. You decide - and let me know.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
It's not a job, it is a labour of love. If the passion leaves you, then you must leave journalism. If not, you'll poison those around you.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Sorry. I must respect the privicy of my sources - even if the pitch is outrageous.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On an aeroplane.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
It doesn't take rocket science just continual plodding. It once took me fifteen years before I could do a solid exopse on a crook.
