yes, when I was younger they were the thing!
How is social media changing news?
Ever increasingly fast news-cycle, increased levels of public discussion, more person-specific consumption and generally increased exposure.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a transmitter of information from source to point of consumption. Interpretation and analysis is also important.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Canon D 60. Macbook Pro. Bagpipes!

Facebook.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No but I did contribute to newspapers at University and was the 'media-officer' for a political organisation.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The conditions of refugee camps in Lebanon.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Do it yourself. Get out there.
When's the best time to pitch you?
afternoon (anytime really though)
What's your favorite drink?
milk and/or coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
travelling in different parts of the world- I'm often based in either Guangzhou, China or Akkar, Lebanon.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Spectator.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I don't know what 'your beat' means I'm afraid.
