Umontuen/The Atlanta Voice) Last summer, Governor Brian Kemp released a long-anticipated map of broadband availability across rural Georgia.Over half a million homes and businesses – 10 percent of our state – don’t have broadband. TONYA ANDERSON: Bill supporting Commission on African American History and Culture moving forward
Week 10 of the 2021 Georgia Legislative Session is officially in the books, and we are moving quickly towards Sine Die, our final session day of the year. The Senate has had lots of legislation to consider over the past two weeks, especially last Monday, which was Crossover Day. Crossover Day was the deadline for the Senate to hear and vote on Senate-originated bills, and we will spend the remainder of the session deciding which pieces of House legislation we will send to the governor’s desk.

As always, the work we do is to benefit the citizens of this great state of Georgia, and I look forward to updating you on all of the work we have done.

Tonya Anderson and Paul DesRocher from RTD Denver detail the steps the agency has taken to modernise the ways in which riders access services, including how a collaboration with Uber has given customers more ways than ever to plan and pay for trips. What kind of projects and initiatives is Denver working on to update mass transit for the MaaS age? Paul DesRocher: The first and foremost project that RTD is leading at the moment is our ‘Reimagine RTD’ planning process.
TONYA ANDERSON: Legislature takes time to honor Bishop Long
Another week has come and gone at the Capitol, and things have really started to get busy under the Gold Dome.Recently, I sponsored Senate Resolution 43 honoring the life and memory of Bishop Eddie Long. I know first-hand the impact Bishop Long had on the community and the state of Georgia as a whole. As a devout man of God and friend to many, it is easy to see how Bishop Long became one of the most influential spiritual leaders of our generation.
