Travis commenced his writing career in 2008 eventually covering automotive events across Texas and in the United Kingdom, while also documenting his international excursions and sharing delicious details of the restaurants he dined at along the way.

In 2020, the idea for The Royal Texan was born of those travels and has grown to include gear and technology reviews, a primer on gentlemanly conduct, and expansion into coverage of motorcycles, watercraft, aircraft, and other modes of transportation.
