yes and continued to use one into my early 20's. Ultimately stopped because it was not easy to get maintenance or find ribbon.

Social media is not changing news, only how we receive it. More accessibility means more curating to find the hidden gems & best stories.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Sally Albright, When Harry Met Sally. I think many ambitious and career driven women can probably relate to her story across generations.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
We are historians because history belongs to those who write it (document it).
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Always carry a Moleskine and ink pen wherever I go. Have every other gadget in the world, but can't create without writing it down first.

Why did you become a journalist?
I met so many interesting people on my global travels and daily errands. From teens to seniors I wanted to tell their 'world saving' stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I have always enjoyed writing but never had an interest in doing it until my 20's when someone who read my work suggested this path.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A story about Santiago (Chile) Maker Space - was surprised to find such a big and strong maker community at the 'end' of S. America.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
We are documenting history. So tell your story accurately & passionately if you want it to be referenced by future generations.

We live in a global world and who knows when your best story idea will appear. So pitch whenever the spirit hits you.
