After serving 15 years at Dell Technologies in several sales and leadership roles, Tripp Plaskett joined NetApp in Nashville as a Client Executive. At NetApp, he helps organizations manage, secure, and optimize their data across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments by using advanced hardware, software, and services. John Plaskett began his career at Dell Technologies in 2010 as a Storage Expert and was promoted to Technical Sales Manager within three years. He led a team of sales professionals, providing coaching, training, and support to improve individual and team results. He also created territory management plans that optimized resources and aligned efforts toward shared goals. In 2017, he became Enterprise Inside Sales Director, managing 48 sellers and sales leaders. In this role, he focused on open communication, clear goal setting, and team collaboration. He later served as a Data Center Sales Executive and Account Executive, where he achieved high sales performance, managed major accounts, and developed solutions that effectively met customer needs.
Throughout his career, he has received multiple honors, including FY22 Director of the Year, Manager of the Year FY19, and several quarterly and half-year leadership awards. He was part of Dell’s President’s Club in 2019, a recognition of outstanding sales achievement. His certifications include CML-Certified Storage Architect and VTSP Certification. He has also completed several professional programs, including Dell’s Leadership Development Program, the RSDU Program, Dale Carnegie's Effective Communications and HR Program, and the Nancy Graves Executive Communications Program.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, he has shown a strong dedication to community service. He participated in Push America, now known as Journey of Hope - The Ability Experience, where he was one of 50 men who cycled across the United States to raise awareness for people with disabilities. The team traveled over 8,000 miles and raised more than $500,000 in support of disability awareness and inclusion. He continues to volunteer for community events and is an active member of Christ the King Church in Nashville. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, hiking, and kayaking.
