PromptOpsKit: an open-source, repo-native way to manage prompts in AI apps
I got tired of prompt & system instruction, models, tools, and input context strings scattered across my app, so I built PromptOpsKit (or see this website) npm i promptopskit If you build AI features into a real product, you probably already have prompt operations. You just don’t have them in one place.
Understanding Optimal Batch Size
For any production and delivery process there is two cost components that combine for total cost of any batch size. The transaction cost for setting up to do the production of that work, and then the holding cost of lost revenue between shipping that work.
Impact of Multiple Team Dependencies in Software Development
Impact of Multiple Team Dependencies in Software Development As delivery organizations scale some features require more than one team to design, build and deploy. Some organizations have made teams formed around products (versus architecture) and this can reduce these dependencies.
How Does Utilization Impact Lead-time of Work?
How Does Utilization Impact Lead-time of Work? Does system utilization impact the amount of time it takes to complete work? This notebook examines the impact of utilization and suggests ways to minimize that impact. Kingman's Approximation is a mathematical formula use to estimate the queue time (which is in addition to the work time) in a system based on utilization, arrival variability and service time variability.
Tracks for Agile2019
Sessions are distributed into tracks to help you find sessions about particular topics. The tracks and track organizers are listed below. Agile Companies Co-Chairs : Tim Gifford & Evan Leybourn Agile Companies An organization's ability to adapt to changes the market is always limited by its agility. Thirty years ago, it was our software teams. New processes, bureaucracy, and governance were created to compensate for the software crisis of the 1960's and teams couldn't cope. And so we created Agile.
What's the story about Agile Data
We are surrounded by data, but we often struggle to see and use it. It’s not good enough just to show the data in a chart. People need to see and understand the importance of the data they are being shown, and then know how to act. Stories help people make that connection. This keynote is about helping people tell important stories in Agile using data. Stories that help something known by a few become known to everyone, in such a compelling way, that the right action is taken.
Tracking where your time went with Lego workstream visualisation
How much of your time do you spend on planned work? The work which you set out to do today? I worked with a team that quantified this number and focused their process improvements on moving that figure upwards. It took us a while to figure out an effective way of tracking it. At first, we tried putting tally marks on a whiteboard. Each representing how we spent our time that day. That worked for a while until we started to run out of whiteboard space.
Using Blocker Clustering, Defect Clustering, and Prioritization for Process Improvement
Teams use kanban boards to visualize work and track progress during the development process. When work gets delayed (it’s blocked), it is of particular interest to look for ways to decrease cycle time and improve the smooth flow of work by resolving the causes of that delay. A common technique used by teams is to add a red Post-it note with a brief reason to the blocked work ticket.
