Real gross domestic product nationwide rose at an annual rate of 4.9% in the third quarter of 2023. In Arkansas, the GDP growth rate was 0.7%. The S&P 500 index gained 24.2% last year.

Supreme Court Throws Out Case That Could Have Limited Lawsuits Over Disability Access
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a case surrounding a Maine hotel that could have made it harder for people with disabilities to learn in advance whether a hotel’s accommodations meet their needs. Hotels and other business interests had urged the justices to limit the ability of so-called testers to file lawsuits against hotels that fail to disclose accessibility information on their websites and through other reservation services.
Competitor! Competitor! Competitor! (Craig Douglass On Consumers)
The 1949 movie “Adam’s Rib,” starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, is one of my favorite oldies. It was a midcentury look at gender equality, acted out by two married attorneys pitted in a trial against one another. As the Hepburn-wife character begins to get the best of the Tracy-husband character, to her he frustratedly shouts, “I want a wife, not a competitor! Competitor! Competitor!” Classic. Sorry, Spencer. Competition is a way of life. Sometimes in marriage. Every day in business.
COVID & Consumer Common Sense (Craig Douglass On Consumers)

It observes, measures, experiments, formulates, tests and modifies.
