Twyla Campbell’s Biography

I am an Alberta-based freelance food and travel writer who is an appreciator of the open road, a lover of off the beaten path destinations and a champion of the underdog.

"Why would you go there?" is a question I love answering.

I've been writing about food and travel since 2003 and have been published in several magazines, newspapers and on websites including Eat North, Matador Network and AFAR.

I have travelled (and worked in) the Canadian Arctic; traipsed through the Colombian jungle to talk to Indigenous people about mining rights, and eaten everything from walrus to camel.

People are at the heart of every story. The best way to learn about them is to sit at their table while sharing their food.
