Real estate scams are on the rise in Georgia

According to a study from law firm Anidjar & Levine, potential homebuyers lost more than $4 million to real estate fraud in 2023, the 10th highest total nationwide.

Throughout the year there was a noticeable rise in seller impersonation attempts and attacks targeting homebuyers. In Q4, some of the largest companies in the industry were taken down by cyber syndicates.
Mortgage Payoff Fraud Attempts Increase 5x from Q1 to Q2 2023
