Multiparty Spohn's theorem for a combination of local Markovian and non-Markovian quantum dynamics
We obtain a Gorini-Kossakowski-Sudarshan-Lindblad-like master equation for two or more quantum systems connected locally to a combination of Markovian and non-Markovian heat baths. The master equation was originally formulated for multiparty systems with either exclusively Markovian or non-Markovian environments. We extend it to encompass the case of multiple quantum systems connected to a mixture of Markovian and non-Markovian heat baths.
Separability and entanglement in superpositions of quantum states
Abstract It is known that by probabilistically mixing an arbitrary pair of pure quantum states, one of which is entangled and the other product, in any bipartite quantum system, one always obtains an entangled state, provided the entangled state of the pair appears with a nonzero probability. On the other hand, if we consider any superposition of the same pair, with a nonzero amplitude for the entangled state of the pair, the output state may not always be entangled.
Unextendible entangled bases and more nonlocality with less entanglement
Abstract We consider a general version of the phenomenon of more nonlocality with less entanglement within the framework of the unambiguous (i.e., conclusive) quantum state discrimination problem under local quantum operations and classical communication. We show that although the phenomenon was obtained before for two qutrits, it can also be observed for two qubits, whereas still being at the single-copy level.
All entangled states are quantum coherent with locally distinguishable bases
Abstract We find that a bipartite quantum state is entangled if and only if it is quantum coherent with respect to complete bases of states in the corresponding system that are distinguishable under local quantum operations and classical communication. The corresponding minimal quantum coherence is the entanglement of formation. Connections to the relative entropy of entanglement and quantum coherence, and generalizations to the multiparty case are also considered.
Masking Quantum Information is Impossible
Abstract Classical information encoded in composite quantum states can be completely hidden from the reduced subsystems and may be found only in the correlations. Can the same be true for quantum information? If quantum information is hidden from subsystems and spread over quantum correlation, we call it masking of quantum information. We show that while this may still be true for some restricted sets of nonorthogonal quantum states, it is not possible for arbitrary quantum states.
