A Hormuz deal leaves Iran its uranium
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he’d fight the Iran war all over again. “Long term it’s the only answer,” he told reporters. “You can’t let Iran have a nuclear weapon.” He’s right about that. Which is precisely why the deal his negotiators are working on should worry him even more than the midterm election results do. Israel’s security establishment has briefed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the Israel Defense Forces’ chief of staff, Lt. Gen.

The blocs didn’t move.

Pillay’s Nobel Rests on a Number Nobody Checked
Oslo gave its Peace Prize this month to the woman who chaired the UN panel that accused Israel of genocide, and one of the two men who sat beside her has now said the panel never checked the number its case leaned on. Chris Sidoti, the Australian jurist on the Human Rights Council’s commission of inquiry, debated the American military-law expert Brian Cox at Caulfield Hebrew Congregation, an Orthodox shul in Melbourne, earlier this month.

Its super PAC, the United Democracy Project, will keep going. So, by AIPAC’s account, will the giving.

Photo: REUTERS/Ronen Zvulun On Oct. 27, approximately 7.3 million eligible Israeli voters will pick one paper slip out of a tray of party ballots, seal it in an envelope, and go home. Who governs gets decided after that — nobody in Israel actually votes for prime minister. It all comes down to one number: 61.
Israel saved British lives. London rewarded them with sanctions
The Pentagon flew all 12 of its B-1B bombers out of RAF Fairford over the weekend and sent them home. Those are the aircraft that flew America’s strikes on Iran, and they left a week after British police arrested five men near the base on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts. Andy Burnham, the prime minister, says there are “strong indications” Tehran was behind it. Israeli security and intelligence services saw it coming.

Britain’s Palestine campaign is in office
Britain, once again off track, is holding its fight over Israel in the wrong building. Andy Burnham’s government announced economic measures against Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria on 8 September. The Chief Rabbi, the Board of Deputies, and the Jewish Leadership Council had each warned against them, and condemned them when they came — to say nothing of logic or not-so-common sense.

The court left one way to draft haredi men
The High Court struck down the arrest shield on 3 September. Nine justices found the legislative process defective enough to void the statute, and eight of them went further: a law that lifts criminal enforcement off one group while leaving every man in it legally obliged to report is unconstitutional in what it does, not only in how it was passed. The law never managed to operate, even for a day. Ofer Grosskopf froze it on 15 July, twenty-four hours after the Knesset passed it.
Washington’s Syria referee has a conflict
Tom Barrack is building the mechanism meant to keep Israeli and Turkish aircraft from shooting at each other over Syria — a standing deconfliction cell, staffed around the clock in Hebrew, Arabic, English and Turkish. He is also the American ambassador to Ankara. One man, both jobs. And the second one is representing the United States to one of the two air forces the first is trying to keep separate.

Nineteen Months. Then Five Days.
The last UNRWA compound in Jerusalem was excised like a malignant tumor on 25 August, nineteen months after the law banning the agency took effect. What finally made it happen was a lawsuit from the Knesset member who wrote the law. She sued the ministers responsible for enforcing it five days before the forces arrived. The Knesset banned UNRWA from territory Israel holds as sovereign in 2024, eastern Jerusalem included, and the ban took effect in January 2025.

Hamas Wants to Keep Its Arsenal, Just Change the Address

ISIS Taught Boko Haram to Jailbreak ChatGPT
Islamic State operatives flew into Lake Chad with laptops and a projector, and taught Boko Haram’s commanders how to work the models and how to get past the refusals. Every safeguard failed. What held them back was people — and people leave a payment trail. A bomb in the Lake Chad basin would not go off. The wires ran in a way that seemed to be stopping detonation, and the man holding it could not ask anyone for help, because his rank did not permit him to work an AI model.

The Conspiracy Behind Israeli Media Is a Sysadmin
You are reading this on The Times of Israel, but a company you have probably never heard of put the page in front of you. It drew the layout, wrote the code, and owns the server the page came off. The same company, on the same publishing system it built, does every bit of that for 972 Magazine — the far-left, anti- or non-Zionist outfit that gave the world the “twenty seconds per target” figure from its Lavender reporting on the war in Gaza.
Gaza’s Endgame Has Left Jerusalem
The most consequential thing to happen to Gaza this month happened in Egypt, at a negotiating table where the question of whether the territory is ever disarmed — the question Israel spent the war answering with the IDF — now belongs to a Trump-chaired board, a Bulgarian envoy, and the governments of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Israel won the war. The settlement of that war is moving to rooms where Israel has no seat.

While Iran Filled the Feed, an Embassy Opened
The Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem's Old City. (Illustrative photo: Canva) The biggest Israel story of the week barely made your feed. While the cameras tracked the US–Iran deal racing toward its signing in Switzerland, the president of a functioning democracy most of the world still refuses to recognize opened an embassy in Jerusalem, and almost no one noticed. Catching the story buried in the noise is most of what an intelligence analyst actually does. This week made it easy.
