ACotGK Character Creation Video
Here is a video demonstrating character creation in ACotGK. The player starts up the game, and goes through the dialogs, choosing gender, race, class, etc. You may find it mildly interesting; I should have more interesting videos to follow. From my perspective, this was an exercise in getting video capture, editing, and upload working. Many follies ensued, but I managed to get it all working. Hopefully I can do it faster next time.
Weekly Updates #69 - Let's keep going!
Entry posted by jb-dev · 9 minutes ago 9 views Oh hello, what a nice surprise: It's you! It's your favourite Weekly Update blog again! This is a very visual one. I was able to add two new while updating the look of generic challenges along the way. But enough chit-chat, let's get this thing started, shall we? First, here is the first new challenge. The goal here is to climb to the top. There's a little bit of everything here... So let's start from the beginning.
Platforms that go in only one direction
Greetings. Thank you for opening this thread. Long post ahead. I am a High School student trying to get into game development. I would like to ask you a set of questions, but I think giving a context first will be the best. So, this is what's happening: In recent time, about 3 weeks ago, I started learning how to use Unity Game Engine and Blender.
I Am Overburdened, what is to come
Entry posted by Spidi · 16 minutes ago 21 views Hi there! Been pretty much out of touch with the online world in the last few weeks. So I guess it is time to break the silence with an I Am Overburdened update and some news about the expansion ?! The update Showcasing version 1.2.7. will be short as it is a refinement build. Nothing spectacular, just a bunch of fixes and tunings.
Flight Sim Prototype
By Vahe Hello guys i am trying to make a square and update it every time the cursor is moved. In fact everything works fine. i try to prevent a pause in rendering during some window interactions (e.g. resizing). When I move the cursor, rendering becomes slow (I mean the square is not catching up with the cursor). I'm sure I didn't set up the thread correctly. Here is my code. my problem is similar to this one https://stackoverflow.com/questions/32255136/glfw-pollevents-really-really-slow.

Flight Simulator
By MarkK. · Posted November 10 I do read the one pixel under the cursor directly but I'm using that back buffer twice per frame. Once to render the gizmo with a much thicker line width (6.0) pick from that. Clear and render the scene and thin lines (1.0) and present that.. yeah, requires a flush...didn't see a reliable way around it. I thought about ray casting or similar but for me the better path is to keep my head on the shader side.

Reviews! EEK!
So I published a game recently. If you haven’t heard it is called Frost Bite. It’s a snowy rogue like horror game. I’m pretty excited during the first week it was out it actually sold a couple copies but then reviews started coming in from people who had played it. Now I’ve been speed running this game for months so I was really surprised that one of the problems people had was that the environment was too difficult.
A New GameDev Coming Soon
GameDev.net has evolved over the years just as the games industry has evolved. And now we're about to evolve again - maybe our 6th or 7th time in 20 years by one of the Moderator's count. Sometime in the next few days, when you visit GameDev.net, you're going to see something different: Quite a change GameDev.net has been a resource for game and interactive media developers for over 20 years, and the world is a much different place than it was when we started.
Live on Kickstarter!
Last week, I wrote a post to show you how your unity scene hierarchy is reducing the performance of your game. That post arose awareness across many of you developers. And so, many of you asked great questions that I'll answer in today's entry. [The original post can be found here] Yes... I confess. The examples I often show you in my blog posts are not real-life projects. This is one of the points you have been commenting on. Ruben, this is an artificial scenario. Ruben, this doesn't happen in games.

Night Terror game
A short new game ‘Night Terror – The School’ coming soon. Patrons can download the game immediately – https://www.patreon.com/posts/night-terror-31711252 It is a short experimental project that I want to create within a short period of time. The development time is less than a month’s time. So far the drawings of the characters and environments aren’t that difficult to do, the animations are also fairly easy. It will be coming out on Itch.io next week and the Play store next month.

Mods on mobile
It wasn't long ago that user-generated content was a feature only the biggest PC games supported. Back then, mods were generally total conversions that gave rise to classics like Counter-Strike (Half-Life), DotA/LoL (Warcraft 3), PUGB/Fortnite (ArmA 3) and many others. Mods in more places Fast forward a few years and modding is emerging in more places than ever.
