Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome in adolescents with ME/CFS — a case control study
Abstract Introduction: Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) can be associated with myalgic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Pediatric PoTS requires a “sustained” rise in orthostatic heart rate ≥40 bpm above supine heart rate (relative limit), often >120 bpm (absolute limit).
Evaluation of novel Epstein-Barr virus-derived antigen formulations for monitoring virus-specific T cells in pediatric patients with infectious mononucleosis | Virology Journal | Full Text
Twenty patients (12 female, 8 male) with a median age of 9.5 (range 5 – 17) years were recruited into the Munich infectious mononucleosis (IMMUC) study, a large prospective, multicenter observational clinical study with the aim of defining biomarkers for acutely complicated and protracted disease (Table 1).
Evaluation of a Webinar to Increase Health Professionals’ Knowledge about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
1.2. Hypotheses The pre-registered hypotheses were very similar in both studies. Study 2 was conducted to substantiate that pre-post differences in knowledge about ME/CFS can be attributed to webinar attendance by supplementing a control group (no webinar attendance between measurements) to the study design. To increase test power, we present combined analyses for both studies where applicable and statistically controlled for sample (Study 1 vs. 2) in additional robustness checks.
The Epstein-Barr Virus Major Tegument Protein BNRF1 Is a Common Target of Cytotoxic CD4+ T Cells
Cellular Response to Infection Dinesh Adhikary, Julia Damaschke, Josef Mautner, Uta Behrends Jae U. Jung, Editor DOI: 10.1128/JVI.00284-20 ABSTRACT Cellular immunotherapy is a proven approach against Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-driven lymphoproliferation in recipients of hematopoietic stem cells. Extending the applicability and improving the response rates of such therapy demands improving the knowledge base.
