1. Introduction The concept of stochastic resonance was first introduced in the works of Benzi [1,2], where the problem of the periodic onset of ice ages on Earth was studied. To model the corresponding dynamic process, the motion of an oscillator in a double-well potential under high friction was considered. The potential minima were interpreted as the ice age and normal climate, and the external weak periodic excitation corresponded to fluctuations in the eccentricity of the Earth’s orbit.
