What was your first job as a journalist?
Features Assistant, Seventeen Magazine. (After many an unpaid internship!)
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Strictly for vintage street cred. I found a hulking metal typewriter from the 1920s on Etsy and used it as the guest book at our wedding.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Integrity, honesty, perspective.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email. And that's all she wrote.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
A relatively ancient Macbook Air, iPhone (especially the Voice Recorder app), label maker.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram and Pinterest for the pretty, Twitter for work.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I wanted to tell women's stories.
