Abstract There is no clear consensus regarding accurate risk stratification in early pregnancy for later developing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the predictive performance of an OGTT and several biomarkers in the first trimester of pregnancy. Their association with insulin action, beta cell function and requirement for insulin were additionally assessed. In this prospective cohort study, we included 657 pregnant women in six Central European centres.

What is the impact of the EuroNet-PHL-C2 treatment for boys with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) on semen parameters? More than half of the patients (52%, n = 16/31) had oligozoospermia or azoospermia at 2 years from cHL diagnosis; particularly boys treated for advanced-stage cHL had low sperm counts and motility. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy to the inguinal region or testes can impair spermatogenesis and result in reduced fertility.

Comparison of energy expenditure measurements by a new basic respiratory room vs. classical ventilated hood - Nutrition Journal
Respiratory rooms are the current gold standard for analyzing EE in free living conditions. To determine if the basic respiratory room is valid for assessing EE, we compared the measurement of EE (kcal/min) recalculated to 24h_EE (kcal), based on indirect calorimetric gas exchange parameters (\(\dot{\mathrm{V}}\) O2, and \(\dot{\mathrm{V}}\) CO2), between the new room and ventilated hood in healthy adults.
