Background The capability of healthcare organizations to provide high-quality care is in part determined by their workers’ ability to adapt to a complex and uncertain environment. Since healthcare operations are often highly standardized and bureaucratized, adapting and responding to internal and external changes is no small feat. This study investigates these tensions as determinants of individual agility.
Abstract Occasionally, leaders may express incivility towards their followers. Notwithstanding the leader’s incivility, support from the same leader may help their followers thrive. This study examined the affective mechanisms of follower thriving in the face of leader incivility.
