Symptomatic early coronary graft failure in bypass surgery patients: incidence, predictors and clinical impact - Netherlands Heart Journal
Abstract Coronary graft failure (CGF) may occur early after coronary bypass graft surgery (CABG). The study aimed to identify clinical and perioperative risk factors and to evaluate the long-term clinical impact of symptomatic early CGF. Patients who underwent clinically indicated coronary angiography (CAG) prior to post-CABG discharge between 2012 and 2022 were included.
[18F]PSMA-1007 PET for biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer, a comparison with [18F]Fluciclovine - EJNMMI Reports
Abstract The objective of this study was to compare the detection rates of [18F]PSMA-1007 and [18F]Fluciclovine in early biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer, i.e. with low prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels (0.2–5.0 µg/L). This was a prospective, single-center (Radboudumc; Nijmegen, The Netherlands), comparative phase II diagnostic imaging study (NCT04239742).

Autistic and non-autistic individuals show the same amygdala activity during emotional face processing - Molecular Autism
Data were taken from the Mind-Set sample [43] and collected between 2016 and 2020 at an academic outpatient clinic in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. After data exclusion (see below for details), we analysed the data of 72 autistic participants (23 female) and 79 non-autistic participants (42 female). The mean age was 37 (SD: 15, range: 18–70) and 33 (SD: 12, range: 18–74) for the autistic group and the comparison group, respectively.

Environmental and nutritional assessment of young children’s diets in Norway: comparing the current diet with national dietary guidelines and the EAT-Lancet reference diet (pdf) | Paperity
European Journal of Nutrition, Aug 2023 Introducing healthy and sustainable diets early in life can promote lifelong healthy dietary patterns with a low environmental impact. Therefore, we aimed to estimate the environmental and nutritional consequences of a dietary change for 2-year-old children in Norway towards healthier dietary patterns.
Upward job mobility in local economies
Regional divergence and labour market polarization have been two noticeable trends in many countries during the past decades (Goos et al., 2009; Rosés and Wolf, 2018). These phenomena have led to immediate concerns about the socio-economic and political effects of growing inequalities in our time and how they play out in space (Iammarino et al., 2019; Rodríguez-Pose, 2018).

Deciphering Methylation Effects on S2(ππ*) Internal Conversion in the Simplest Linear α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl
Abstract Chemical substituents can influence photodynamics by altering the location of critical points and the topography of the potential energy surfaces (electronic effect) and by selectively modifying the inertia of specific nuclear modes (inertial effects). Using nonadiabatic dynamics simulations, we investigate the impact of methylation on S2(ππ*) internal conversion in acrolein, the simplest linear α,β-unsaturated carbonyl.

Early on-treatment changes in circulating tumor DNA fraction and response to enzalutamide or abiraterone in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer
Purpose: Androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPI) are standard of care for treatment-naive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), but rapid resistance is common. Early identification of resistance will improve management strategies. We investigated whether changes in circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) fraction during ARPI treatment are linked with mCRPC clinical outcomes.

Excitonic Nature of Carotenoid-Phthalocyanine Dyads and Its Role in Transient Absorption Spectra
Introduction In the light-harvesting (LH) process of plants, chlorophylls play the major role as they are responsible for light absorption and energy transfer to the reaction center. However, the absorption efficiency of the chlorophyll-containing LH complexes is further increased by the copresence of carotenoids (Cars) which absorb light at a higher frequency than chlorophylls thus enlarging the region of the visible spectrum that can be exploited.

Alcohol consumption in relation to cardiovascular diseases and mortality: a systematic review of Mendelian randomization studies - European Journal of Epidemiology
Abstract The causal effects of alcohol-in-moderation on cardiometabolic health are continuously debated. Mendelian randomization (MR) is an established method to address causal questions in observational studies. We performed a systematic review of the current evidence from MR studies on the association between alcohol consumption and cardiometabolic diseases, all-cause mortality and cardiovascular risk factors.
Institutions and the fortunes of territories
Abstract Regions and cities face unceasing pressures to adapt in response to processes of globalization, changes in industrial production, and new patterns of migration and trade. At the same time, the dominant development policies are proving less than capable of providing answers to these challenges.
Restorative and regenerative: Exploring the concepts in the circular economy
Abstract The most recognized definition of the circular economy is that it is a restorative and regenerative economy. Despite the wide use and importance attributed to the concepts of “restoration” and “regeneration,” they are rarely defined or explained in the circular economy literature. In this context, this study critically examines the two terms, while providing guidance on their future utilization and development.

Elephant-mediated habitat modifications and changes in herbivore species assemblages in Sabi Sand, South Africa - European Journal of Wildlife Research
Abstract Elephant Loxodonta africana conservation might indirectly influence the wider herbivore community structure, as elephants have the ability to significantly modify the savanna habitat. Uncertainty remains as to the consequences of these effects, as elephants might either compete with other species or facilitate foraging especially for grazers and smaller browsing species by increasing the amount of grass or the amount of browse at lower feeding heights.
