What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote the advertorials at Aquarist & Pondkeeper.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes - I learnt to type 'old skool' style - to music with a piece of paper covering my hands.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Phil in Groundhog Day!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A journalist is that friend at college that turned up for the lecture you missed. We'll tell you everything you need to know for the test.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Laptop, pen, lots of pieces of paper...

What's your favorite social network?

Insta

Who do you wish followed you?

Tom Hardy, but I fear I am being unprofessional.

Why did you become a journalist?

I loved to write. In fact I couldn't stop at school - pages and pages of it.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Right now, the Dogs Today piece on 3rd party puppy sales, due out in November.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Do you like not being rich?

What's the best pitch you ever got?

It felt good writing about the healing power of horses in Woman's Own.

What's your favorite drink?

I like water...and I like wine. A white Burgundy actually.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At the gym or walking in the woods with my dog.
