Who is Hideo Kojima and WTF is Death Stranding?
The whole world is abuzz about the new game, Death Stranding. It features an A-List celebrity cast of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelson, Guillermo Del Toro, and many more silver-screen names. The game’s mysterious setting and oblique marketing consist of faces you may recognize, but in an uncanny, yet familiar world that does not look like any other video game you’ve seen. Have no fear, gamers don’t know what to make of it either. Weirdness is what the creator, Hideo Kojima, is known best for.
Information overload: The promise and risk of quantum computing
Google recently announced a breakthrough in quantum computing. Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO, reportedly compared the achievement to the Wright brothers' first flight. Credit: Composite by Matt Field. (Creative Commons photos by Maurizio Pesce and Steve Jurvetson.) The English philosopher Sir Francis Bacon is often credited with saying “knowledge is power.” Although Bacon’s aphorism is still in circulation, the 16th century thinker clearly didn’t predict the advent of the modern-day search engine.

An Indian private cybersecurity researcher had tweeted about the breach three days earlier, prompting Indian authorities to initially deny that it had occurred before admitting that the intrusion had been discovered in early September and that efforts were underway to respond to it.
The Rise of Alternative Media?
Living in a seemingly post-truth age, when the trust in our institutions is at an all time low, seeing presidential candidates turn to the internet to get their word out is a welcomed change. While streaming services and social media influencers are still susceptible to the same corporate influence that is plaguing network television, it is uncharted territory in terms of reach and social impact.
Juggling Multiple Hats On and Off the Screen: A Review of Motherless Brooklyn
By: Vickram Singh Disillusionment from economic growth, ruthless, and possibly corrupt, men in power disregarding everything but their egos and a country that is tenuously holding on to an impression of race relations. Edward Norton’s “Motherless Brooklyn” may be a noir crime drama taking place in 1950s New York City, but its subject matter feels all the more resonating today.
/r/JUUL or /r/QuitingJUUL: How Subreddits Foster Communication for Addiction Issues
By, Vickram Singh The public image of vaping has taken hard hits in recent months. This summer marked the rise of vaping-related illnesses and even deaths, bringing this, still fairly new, recreational activity and its practitioners under public scrutiny. Calls for increased legislation and crackdown on underage vaping in communities all over the country even caused President Trump to call for a ban.

This time, it’s personal. Bruce Greene is leaving Funhaus. For lifelong fans, this is a time of mourning. For those unaware of this amazing group of internet personalities, here is a devoted fan’s introduction and a farewell to the man who guided the group to reach the level of popularity it has now. Berserk : The Antithesis to Binge Culture
By, Vickram Singh Welcome to the new Honeysuckle Column: Raised by the Internet. This bi-weekly section will be covering the weird, niche, and nerdy from places around the world and the internet. It is all run by yours truly, a man who claims to have been raised by the internet— for better or for worse. The social media sphere experienced a false alarm recently: a rumour circulated that Netflix might be releasing episodes weekly, effectively moving away from the binge culture it pioneered.

Mojo and the Mayhem and Their Infectious Groove
Music An energetic performance (c) Mojo and the Mayhem By Vickram Singh Mayhem erupted at The Bitter End, but instead of chaos and disarray, it came in the form of soulful tunes and groovy horns. Taking the famous rock and roll club by storm, Mojo and the Mayhem brought the house down with their bombastic sound that makes you want to grab a partner and dance your heart out. If dancing isn’t your thing, as is the case for me, you will tap your toes to each song until you leave a hole in the ground.
Ask for Jane: The Historical Drama That is Needed Now
by Vickram Singh Fearless and determined, an underground collective tirelessly operates behind closed doors. Their lives are comprised of code names, secret phone calls, clandestine meetings, wiretaps, evading authorities, and trusting no one but each other. Their conviction only grows stronger in the face of near-insurmountable odds. This may sound like a movie on WWII resistance fighters in Nazi-occupied France, but the reality is much closer to home.
Do It Together, Tula Vera and Their Alternative to D.I.Y
By Vickram Singh The sound of music permeates the hot summer air in New Brunswick, NJ. While the college town is experiencing its recurring summertime lulls, the underground music scene is just as lively and popular as it is during the semester. Countless D.I.Y, basement shows litter the town, even after Rutgers University stopped sponsoring music venues a few years ago.

by Vickram Singh Storm clouds were brewing over Asbury Park, New Jersey, with weather forecasts predicting scattered thunderstorms that would hit coastal towns during the weekend. Ian Nugent and the rest of Haute Box were undeterred from their plans to hold the second annual Grassroots Cannabis Forum on that particular Saturday. The forum is a free outdoor event that aims to educate people on the growing cannabis industry in New Jersey.
What Does the Fourth of July Mean to Me?
Culture A beautiful fireworks display. Courtesy of @benobro By Vickram Singh Growing up, the Fourth of July used to mean one thing, really, and only one thing — fireworks! Every year, my town would stage a fireworks display on our local waterfront, where people from all over New Jersey would come to celebrate. I remember being a child and seeing the Governor of New Jersey attending the festivities one year, my first recollection of seeing someone included from the removed world of politics.

Courtesy of @Asimfarooki by Vickram Singh I lay on the floor among a menagerie of aroused onlookers, listening intently to acclaimed pornstar Lisa Ann as she seductively describes having her way with a nervous yet thrilled pool boy. This was the scene that the cleverly named New Society for Wellness (NS-FW) set with its ASMRErotica event.
A Queer Retrospective of Classic Film: Some Like it Hot
Culture Movie Poster for Some Like It Hot (C) Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc By Vickram Singh Decent queer representation in mainstream media has been a long time coming. While still having a ways to go, there are wonderful films, shows, music, and other media that exemplify the proud communities that are unabashedly themselves. Representation helps bridge the gap that has grown from years of misinformation and misunderstandings.
