As the founding CEO of Chapter Zero, the directors’ climate forum, I have had the great privilege of working with our 3,500 members here in the UK—chairs, non-executive directors and senior business leaders, including 75% representation from FTSE 350 boards—for four years now. What has fascinated me most is how the issues over these years have changed the narrative on climate, as a reflection of how fast we are transitioning to a new economy.
As a pilot in our new series ‘What does the future hold? Boards and the future of climate action’, we bring together Vicky Moffatt, Chapter Zero CEO, and Emily Chien, Executive Fellow, Harvard Business School, with our members, for a thought-provoking dialogue at the intersection of AI governance and climate action.
In 2025, Chapter Zero is launching a UK Financial Services programme for non-executive directors (NEDs), recognizing the specific and complex requirements of the financial sector related to climate change. As part of this new programme, Chapter Zero is partnering with ERM and the Green Finance Institute (GFI) to run an exclusive in-person masterclass on Tuesday 14 January 2025 for NEDs in Financial Services.
