Chicago Sun-Times — As a kid, Felix Maldonado Jr. remembers being scolded for drawing on walls. Now, he's paid to decorate them with his murals. Among his work: "Bears On Parade," a mural in the 3400 block of North Ashland Avenue that he completed in October 2020 with the help of assistants Lisa Jones and Omar Marin after more than a year of delays due to construction nearby and the coronavirus pandemic.

He was part of a successful Celtic rock band, accompanied dance groups to the international stage (and Johnny Carson's) and helped to blend the sounds of freeform jazz with traditional Irish folk.
