Vishal Panchigar’s Biography

Vishal Panchigar is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at PCOM Georgia, where he is committed to making a meaningful impact in healthcare. His journey in medicine is driven by a deep passion for public health and a dedication to patient care. His overarching goal is to not only be a practitioner but also to lead in creating transformative healthcare solutions that will benefit underserved communities and improve public health systems.

With a solid educational foundation, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2019. This achievement provided him with a broad understanding of the biomedical sciences, an essential aspect of his pursuit of becoming an effective healthcare provider. To further enhance his expertise, he completed a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Healthcare Organizations and Management at the University of South Florida in 2021. Through this program, he honed his skills in healthcare policy, organizational management, and data analysis—essential tools for influencing healthcare systems at the macro level.

During his time at USF, he held various leadership positions that exemplified his commitment to healthcare advocacy and community engagement. As President of the Healthcare Management Student Association (HMSA), he significantly increased student involvement and alums engagement. Under his leadership, HMSA won the Outstanding Graduate Student Organization Award for its exceptional contributions to the student body and the local healthcare community.

Furthermore, as Vice President of Advocacy for Health Students Taking Action Together (H-STAT), he was involved in advocacy efforts for telehealth services, presenting legislative testimony to push for government mandates requiring all insurers to accept telehealth providers. This work demonstrated his forward-thinking approach to modernizing healthcare and making it more accessible to a broader population.

Through his role as Clinic Director for the PCOM Hearts Student Clinic, he demonstrated hands-on leadership by organizing 12 major health screenings in the Greater Atlanta Area, focusing on underserved populations. He also established partnerships with low-income clinics to ensure ongoing volunteer opportunities for students, creating a sustainable model for student-led community health initiatives.
