We identified a significant difference in oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin levels between cases with ME/CFS and healthy controls during a three-minute submaximal handgrip exercise testing procedure. However, after adjusting for total hemoglobin or the force at which the procedure was performed, these differences were reduced.
