Longitudinal Metaproteomic and Lysine Crotonylation Remodeling Defines Clinical Response to Fecal Microbiota Transplantation in Ulcerative Colitis
Abstract Background Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) can induce steroid-free clinical remission in a subset of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), but treatment responses remain heterogeneous and are not fully explained by taxonomic microbiome shifts. To define functional molecular features associated with FMT efficacy, we performed integrated longitudinal fecal metaproteomic and lysine crotonylation (Kcr) profiling.
Integrative multi-omics reveals microbial genomic variants driving altered host-microbe interactions in autism spectrum disorder
Results A total of 270 children were recruited in this study. All participants underwent detailed clinical assessments and provided fecal samples for integrative multi-omics profiling. The discovery cohort consisted of 102 children diagnosed with ASD and 99 age- and gender-matched TD controls, from whom stool samples were subjected to shotgun metagenomic sequencing and untargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based metabolomic analysis.

Abstract Prior studies indicate no correlation between gut microbiota of healthy first-degree relatives (HFDRs) of Crohn's disease (CD) patients and development of CD. Here, we utilized HFDRs as controls to examine the microbiota and metabolome in individuals with active (CD-A) and quiescent (CD-R) CD, thereby minimizing the influence of genetic and environmental factors. Compared to non-relative controls, the use of HFDR controls identified fewer differential taxa.

Tong, the cameraperson at the launch of The Rainbow Bus, remembers feeling indignant that only queer men were included in this book, and set in motion a plan to record the lives of older queer women too.

What kind of ghost will he be? (And here it comes, here it comes, the question in return: “What kind of person was he?”) After the body is cleaned, it’s time to escort him to the morgue. You tell him, “Chang Te-Mo, it’s all right now.” For the last time, you turn the lights off for him.

Jeremy Tiang has translated novels by Yan Ge, Yeng Pway Ngon, Lo Yi-Chin, Zhang Yueran, Chan Ho-Kei, Li Er, and Geling Yan, among others. He also writes and translates plays. His novel State of Emergency won the Singapore Literature Prize in 2018. He lives in Flushing, Queens.
