Coast and county radio/great Yorkshire/great Driffield radio
Hello all I’m a new poster so I’m new to this so forgive me for sounding unknowledgeable. Listening to radio in Scarborough on fm we have coast and county radio which when I search says community radio station ,I’m confused in the difference because listening to it the majority sounds commercial and professional compared to other stations such as the other community station on fm radio Scarborough.
Global Meeting - Global drops local and regional shows in England + more changes
Global is to end all local and regional shows on Heart, Smooth and Capital brands in England, adopting a new Nations Strategy. Output will continue on a national level in Scotland and Wales. The move has been made possible following the introduction of the Media Act late last year, meaning the current regional breakfast shows on Smooth, plus drive shows on Capital and Heart, will end.
1FM / Radio 1 Breakfast Show jingle 1992
Hello, Anybody help out please? Has anybody got the full 1992 Breakfast Show weather jingle has been used by Simon Māori on his show please Thanks in advance
FGTB Cheshire
This new station on a few SSDAB multiplexes in Cheshire (the name apparently stands for "Feel Good ThrowBacks [sic]") is very odd! I listened a bit over the holiday weekend, and it's just such a strange station. The music is all over the place - take what you think is a bonkers playlist and make it 10x bigger, and you're nearly there.
London 2 multiplex
It seems like there's been a bit of shuffling across London 2 and London 3, with LBC London News shifting from 2 to 3 and Colourful moving the other way. Smooth Country has shifted to London 1. Absolute 70s and Planet Rock have gone altogether. There are now no Global/Bauer services on London 2 - just News UK, Nation and independent operators. London 3 continues to be a multiplex of entirely mono services. It seems like the two networks are a bit redundant, really. London 2 is now less than half full.
Where's This Audio From?
Hi everyone, I've just been listening to some audio from the OneNetwork, when GCap used to do a flashback (I think it used to be 1am in the morning). They had clip of a male saying "dragging Up The Past" and a female singing "Back In The Day". I was going to upload it, but unfortunately I cannot seem to upload MP3's. Does anyone know if these are taken from a song or are they imaging FX? Thanks, 0
Nihal Arthanayake leaving Radio 5 Live
At long last you'll be able to tune into 5 Live in the after without having Nihal's "special" radio skills making you switch to something more interesting. Like static. He was better than Bacon mind.

Community Radio Stations That Copy Global And Bauer
Recently I've noticed the following stations are doing a cash competition which has only been won once since it started. Coast and Country Great Driffeld Radio Seaside FM Don't think Vixon or Beverley FM are part of this network though. Guess a mystery voice and the cash prize is £100 more every time someone makes the wrong guess. The last mystery voice took over 2 years to guess I think. Former DJs that were on YCR are part of what could become Community Radio UK eventually. 0
Lite Radio
Never listened before so thought I would give it a go based on some of the music they show as playing on their website. 29 minutes in and still no presenter despite this being a presented show (Matt Cadmen). Mainly track into track with seemingly imagining every third track. Imaging which would sound great on a “gold” station but not an AC station like this. No app either. All very strange. Does anyone listen to this and can shed more light? 0
Radio now being replaced with technology
Fast forward to a couple of years and Hits Radio will still be playing that boring shake it off song and Make Me A Winner every hour long after most people has left to listen to music, podcasts and online radio stations on there own devices
Radio Plymouth
New station I found this morning. Confusing as there have been more than one Radio Plymouth (Plym-mi?) in the past.Just playing ocean sounds at present, no idea where it will go.Can't find the app referred to on the website.
Specialist dance music programming on Gaydio - alternative to Kiss
I thought it would be worth creating a new thread on this since the only threads about Gaydio are very old and scathing about the station, so why not have a more positive one... In particular, I thought I'd highlight the specialist programming, which was a very unexpected discovery made whilst going through all the stations available to me on SSDAB.
Dave Grey - BBC Radio Orkney
These mini-opt out stations for Radio Scotland provide some excellent programming. I've been in Orkney and heard the output, and they really do put together some good community-led output for the local area.
Global vs Bauer
With all the changes recently in the industry: Who has historically destroyed more IRL stations? Acquired the most smaller radio companies? Which one do we prefer as a brand?
What are/were Sallie/Sally stations?
If seen Sally/Sallie stations mentioned in various threads on here, but I don’t know what they are referring to. If tried searching on Google but nothing relevant has com up (just various presenters called Sally). So, my questions are:- What are they? Do they still exist? Are they Sally or Sallie?
Ryan Tubridy on virgin radio UK and Q102 in Dublin
So news broke yesterday of ex RTE star Ryan Tubridy moving to host mid mornings 10-1 on virgin uk and Q102 Dublin. I do wonder what changed in a few days as Ryan was rumoured for today fm in Irelands 12 -2 slot and cover on virgin. Did wireless not want him on a rival so used budget from both stations to secure Ryan's services? Also what will Ryan's show sound like as I doubt it will be music heavy. 0

Ai For Radio and Music
I know the Ai technology was first featured on Fleur East Hits radio breakfast show, which sounded so out of place, with no interaction or smiles coming through the radio. Also lThe Beatles track being released using Ai technology. Not being rude and nasty about the dead - is Ai going to bring back music artists to regenerate new music from them? I can’t really see Ai really replacing a human DJ in the feature? 0
True radio network
Came across this network of stations when I was looking for some new radio stations to listen to, very good mix of music on the true station and they have just launched a new dance station today true beats.
