Anti-corruption campaigns and corporate environmental misconduct: evidence from a regression discontinuity design
Abstract Political corruption and ecological pollution constitute two major impediments to sustainable development, compelling governments globally to adopt targeted policy to mitigate these challenges. Based on institutional theory, this paper explores the policy effect of anti-corruption on corporate environmental misconduct (CEM) and investigates whether political ties serve as a moderating linkage between corruption and environmental degradation.
Highly Off‐Centering Cations in Pavonite‐Structured Ag1.75InSb5.75Se11 with Competitive Thermoelectric Performance
1 Introduction To enable the widespread practical applications of thermoelectric (TE) technology, improving its conversion efficiency η is critical.[1, 2] Numerically, η is directly related to the dimensionless figure of merit, ZT = S2σT/κtot, where S represents the Seebeck coefficient, σ denotes the electrical conductivity, T stands for absolute temperature, and κtot signifies the thermal conductivity composed of the electronic (κele) and lattice (κlat) contributions, respectively.[3-5] The...

Cholesterol-rich lysosomes induced by respiratory syncytial virus promote viral replication by blocking autophagy flux - Nature Communications
Abstract Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) hijacks cholesterol or autophagy pathways to facilitate optimal replication. However, our understanding of the associated molecular mechanisms remains limited. Here, we show that RSV infection blocks cholesterol transport from lysosomes to the endoplasmic reticulum by downregulating the activity of lysosomal acid lipase, activates the SREBP2–LDLR axis, and promotes uptake and accumulation of exogenous cholesterol in lysosomes.
Direct Methane Conversion to Acetic Acid: From Homogeneous Catalysis to Heterogeneous Catalysis
Direct methane conversion to acetic acid (DMCAA) offers a promising approach for transforming the abundant CH4 resources to value-added chemicals, eliminating the multi-step processes involving syngas generation and methanol carbonylation in traditional industrial routes. However, this reaction still faces great challenges, which primarily due to the stable C-H bond of methane and the difficulty in avoiding the over-oxidation of products.

Comprehensive Comparative Analyses of Aspidistra Chloroplast Genomes: Insights into Interspecific Plastid Diversity and Phylogeny
1. Introduction Limestone karsts, with their unique physical and chemical substrates, shape a range of microhabitats and unique island habitats, such as karst caves, and terrestrial islands [1]. These special habitats have ecological conditions that significantly differ from the surroundings and thus provide relatively isolated environments for species isolation and differentiation [2,3]. Karst areas have harboured a high level of plant richness and endemism through a long period of evolution [2].
