Printable, high-performance solid-state electrolyte films
INTRODUCTION The need for safer rechargeable batteries that avoid the use of flammable liquid organic electrolyte has motivated the development of solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) (1–3), such as lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) (4, 5) and garnet-based ceramic compounds (5–7). SSE films (<10 μm) that feature a high ionic conductivity of >10−4 S/cm are typically necessary to achieve high energy and power densities. However, current methods of producing such SSE films have notable challenges.
A general method to synthesize and sinter bulk ceramics in seconds
Speedy ceramic sintering Synthesizing ceramics can require heating for long times at high temperatures, making the screening of high-through-put materials challenging. C. Wang et al. developed a new ceramic-sintering technique that uses resistive heating of thin carbon strips to ramp up and ramp down temperature quickly. This method allows for the quick synthesis of a wide variety of ceramics while mitigating the loss of volatile elements.
Health protective behavior scale: Development and psychometric evaluation
A healthy lifestyle includes health protective and health promoting behaviors. Health promoting lifestyle profiles have been developed, but measures of health protective behavior are still lacking. This study sought to develop a health protecting behavior scale. An initial item pool for the Health Protective Behavior Scale (HPBS) was generated based on read and referred literature and a single-item open-ended survey.
