Efficient separation of oil-phenol mixtures and removal of neutral oil entrainment via an in situ deep eutectic method
Efficient separation of oil–phenol mixtures and removal of neutral oil entrainment via an in situ deep eutectic method† Traditional phenolic separation processes produce a large amount of wastewater and high neutral oil entrainment. This work used the COSMO model to predict the separation performance of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for m-cresol (MCR) and identified a potential extractant EmimCl : MCR (1 : 0.4) DES and its liquid phase operating window.

‘Imidazolium-based dicationic ionic liquids: Highly efficient extractants for separating aromatics from aliphatics
The separation of aromatics from aliphatics is challenging and energy-consuming because of the very close boiling points among these compounds and the possibility of forming azeotropes. In this work, we designed two imidazolium-based dicationic ionic liquids, [C5(MIM)2][NTf2]2 (DIL1) and [C6(MIM)2][NTf2]2 (DIL2), and found they could highly efficiently extract aromatics from aliphatics.
Specific Heat Capacities of Two Functional Ionic Liquids and Two Functional Deep Eutectic Solvents for the Absorption of SO2
The specific heat capacities (C ) of four absorbents (1,1,3,3-tetramethlylguanidinium lactate, monoethanolammonium lactate, betaine-ethylene glycol, and l-carnitine-ethylene glycol), which can chemically absorb sulfur dioxide (SO ) with low concentrations, were measured by a Calvet BT 2.15 calorimeter in a temperature range of 318.15 K–363.15 K. The measured specific heat capacities as a function of temperature were correlated with a second-order empirical polynomial equation.
