The events of the past few days have cast a dark shadow on Extinction Rebellion, a movement that’s been subject to sustained critique since it’s inception. Roger Hallam’s anti-Semitic comments in the German media this week, have shocked many. However, the truth of the matter is that this incident was not out of character. The Extinction Rebellion(XR) co-founder first came the attention of UK activists in 2016, forming a group called Rising Up! with co-founders Gail Bradbrook and Simon Bramwell.
